Ballooning in Cappadocia

Flying ballon in Cappadocia is a must do before you die!

We started about 5 o'clock in the morning. It was still dark. At the ballon bas got som information and a light breakfast. Fifteen persons was going in a minibus to place just outside of Göreme. There were balloons everywhere on the ground. The crews were getting them ready and we got some crash landing instructions. It was a cold day with very little wind.
Mike, our pilot is regarded as one of the most experienced pilots and as he is english it was no problem in understanding him. After a couple of minutes we boarded the cage and took off. He flew very low, followed the valley and occationally jumped over a stone pillar.

It was a magnificent sight - this spectacular landscape and all the ballons.

We also rised to 1000 feet and had a nice view, just like Google Earth irl.
After an hour it was time to land and as another ballon in the same company didn't do a very good landing, we told Mike that one of the ballons had landed straight on their trailer. He understood that it was time to show off. He gave the gound crew some instructions and we saw the Landrover with the trailer chasing across the fields below us. In a couple of minutes we were smack on to the trailer. He is a pro.
When we had disembarked we were presented with certificates and celebrated with champagne.
